If It Wasn’t Bad Enough the First Time

Sick and tire of being sick and tired: Pondering the insanity of our not sailing during the summer months in Las Vegas. All work and no play…

In case you haven’t heard, the economy is bad. Life pretty much sucks right now and ol’ Nereus is still rotting away down in Alabama. So what’s a guy do to get a sailing fix in a time like this? Well, jump on a buddy’s boat, that’s what. Of course, there’s only one buddy who I can really make or break a sailing vacation (well, ok, more break than make, but we know that going in, so it’s all good!). Time to join ol’ Pat and get into some trouble.

We obviously didn’t get it right last time. I don’t know if the story wasn’t funny enough or if Pat just has a sick sense of humor and just wants to see how much punishment I can take. Whatever the reason, Pat’s time on Long Island is over and he’s been transferred back to D.C. So, we going back to return Shaboom from whence she came – Annapolis, MD. Still ironing out the details as of yet, per an email I just received from Pat, Shaboom doesn’t have an engine right now. But, engine-smengine, those are minor details. All I’m looking forward to is spending an afternoon in the showers at Utsch’s Marina in Cape May, NJ.

Of course, no undoing of a sailing adventure will be complete unless we actually try to sail it backwards the whole way – ok, just kidding. That’d never happen. We’d get bored and just end up drinking all the beer. Regardless, back to Annapolis Shaboom will go.

Whatever happens, I’m sure there’ll be plenty o’ story tellin’ ta be had!!!

Lookin’ forward to it!

– Steve
