Demopolis or BUST

In August of 2007, we moved our beloved Nereus from our marina in Bradenton, Florida, across the Gulf of Mexico, up the Tombigbee Waterway at Mobile, Alabama, to our final resting place at Demopolis Yacht Basin, Demopolis, Alabama.

It was a short and not-at-all-sweet trip that effectively put an end to our near term cruising goals as we focused on moving back to Las Vegas, NV and our previous lives as landlubbers. The tale is full of tidbits and tales of sea sickness, banshies, banjo pickin’, dolphins, alligator gar pikes, tug captain, lock masters, excessive heat, thunder storms and sadness.
